We provide that environment at Little Risers Child Care by making it a safe and nurturing place where your child will be encouraged to play, learn, explore and create their way to exciting discoveries about the world around them.

At Little Risers Child Care, we believe in the value and uniqueness of each child and family we serve. Our home child care experience is designed to foster each child’s sense of belonging, well-being, expression and engagement as well as promote each child’s own individual social, emotional, physical and cognitive development. As caregivers and educators, our mission is to provide a safe, nurturing, caring and child-led learning environment, which fosters a child’s natural instinct to explore, discover, create, become a lifelong learner and develop their fullest potential.

WHO AM I?
My name is Melissa, and I am a Registered Early Childhood Educator, as well as a devoted wife and mother. I am the Founder and Director of Little Risers Child Care Inc. (2022). I earned my diploma in Early Childhood Education from Conestoga College in 2009 and have since accumulated over ten years of experience working with children in diverse settings, including child care centers, school boards, and family homes.
Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of engaging with children in various environments, which has equipped me with the essential skills to create meaningful early learning experiences. I am well-versed in integrating the “How Does Learning Happen Framework” into daily activities, ensuring that each child experiences a strong sense of belonging, well-being, engagement, and expression, while also fostering independence within a nurturing educational environment. I believe that children learn most effectively when they feel safe, valued, and connected, enabling them to reach their fullest potential.
I hold several certifications, including First Aid & CPR, a Food Handling Certificate, and a Vulnerable Sector Check, all of which I keep current. As an enthusiastic, dedicated, and passionate educator, I look forward to the opportunity to connect with you and your family and to meet your child care needs.
