At Little Risers Child Care, we believe in the value and uniqueness of each child and family we serve. Our home experience is designed to foster each child’s sense of belonging, well-being, expression and engagement as well as promote each child’s own individual social, emotional, physical and cognitive development.

Age Groups

We allow children to join the Little Risers Child Care Family as a 12 month and to stay with us throughout their preschool years. Our program have Full-Time and Part-Time spaces available.

Learning Through Play

Learning through play is described as a way for children to learn by making sense of the world around them. Through play, children can develop their social and emotional skills, and cognitive skills. Playing fosters children’s brains to develop speech and language skills while learning problem-solving skills. They are also able to learn and build on their fine motor and large motor coordination.

Outdoor Play

Outdoor play is incorporated into the daily schedule. At Little Risers Child Care, a large part of programming takes place outside. Whether it is rain, snow or shine, we do our best to expose children to the elements – teaching them an appreciation for the beauty in all seasons.

Loose Parts

We incorporate the use of loose parts in our program as it helps develop a child’s creativity, critical thinking and imagination. Loose parts play is open-ended and a type of exploratory play with many different types of materials and objects. For example, sticks, pinecones, leaves, straws, cardboard boxes, etc.

Environment

We believe that children learn best when they are in an environment that they feel safe and comfortable. Our mission is to provide a safe, nurturing, caring and child-led learning environment, which fosters a child’s natural instinct to explore, discover, create, become a lifelong learner and develop their fullest potential.

Nutritious Meals

Our program provides nutritious meals that follow the Canadian Food Guide. Each child will be provided with one (1) lunch and two (2) snacks. Our menus are constantly evolving, with new ideas being added to inspire children’s exploration of flavours, textures and smells.
